Skivlagerbrand

Det har väl knappast undgått någon vad som sker i London just nu. I raden av all förstörelse drabbades igår kväll Sony DADCs skivlager som sattes i brand. En tre våningar hög byggnad med ett lager tillhörande en rad oberoende skivbolag distribuerade av PIAS Group förstördes. Vad följderna blir är väl ännu något oklara. Men troligen riskerar ett flertal mindre skivbolag att gå under till följd av den stora ekonomiska förlusten. Många musiker, skivbolag, tidningar och andra personer har under kvällen uppmanat folk att stödja sina favorit-independent-bolag genom att köpa downloads av berörda artister och band.

Det återstår att se vad som sker, men det senaste uttalandet från PIAS lyder så här (källa):

"/.../ Sony DADC have actioned their Business Continuity Plan and are back up and running from a new control room in Enfield. PIAS continue to work with them to minimise the impact on the business, a number one priority for all our labels and clients. SonyDADC have identified a temporary distribution partner and it is envisaged that they will be in a position to pick, pack and ship orders in the course of next week.

This follows an earlier statement regarding a fire last night at the SonyDADC warehouse, which services the physical distribution for PIAS in the UK and Ireland. PIAS's UK offices in London and all other areas of our business are unaffected.

Further details will follow tomorrow morning.
